Ellie and Dawson’s wedding week consisted of park adventures, a sweet “I do,” and a customized menu that delighted all their guests. Keep reading for all of the details that made their wedding day so special.
They say opposites attract, but for Ellie and Dawson, their similar interests only brought them closer together. Between theater, improv, and their love for Disney, they were a perfect match! Six and a half years later, they were ready to make that match last forever.
Ellie & Dawson both grew up visiting Disney every year and knew a Disney wedding was the right fit for them. Additionally, Ellie has a food allergy which she was confident could be accommodated by Disney chefs. She shared, “knowing that Disney would diligently take care of my allergies was a huge peace of mind throughout our planning process.” With this, they invited 21 of their closest friends and family members and soon their wedding week arrived.
The night before the big day, Ellie and Dawson hosted a dessert party at EPCOT in the Germany Promenade, just outside of Germany Courtyard, where they had a private view of the gorgeous nighttime spectacular, and were able to taste some of their customized menu items. Ellie shared, “We had a 100% gluten free dessert party and wedding menu, and every item was stellar!” With items like Dole Whip Cream Puffs, we couldn’t agree more!
On the morning of their wedding, the happy couple got ready at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa before sharing a heart-felt first look on the beach. They exchanged private vows before heading to their ceremony.
Elegant clear chairs faced a true Disney background of the monorail and white rose petals scattered the ground. A violinist serenaded guests upon their arrival and when walking down the aisle, Ellie surprised Dawson with a song special to their relationship. Other customized ceremony accents were seen by tying in traditions that were important to the couple, like a foot washing ceremony to represent their love and service to each other.
After sharing their first kiss as Mr. & Mrs., the couple and their guests enjoyed a lovely meal at a romantic long table adorned with simple, airy floral running down the middle. The couple stated, “The Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings team truly took every inspiration image and description I'd mentioned and put it into the most beautiful display. It took my breath away how perfectly the space matched the vision I had.”
Afterwards, everyone headed indoors to celebrate the couple’s marriage with lots of fun and dancing. Looking back, the couple shared their goal for their day was “to feel like a celebration and tribute to our love of each other and [Walt Disney World], so we cultivated every aspect to feel very customized. We wanted to be by each other's side at every opportunity, and we definitely were able to pull that off!”
