The tradition of "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" has long been honored by brides and the wedding industry alike.  The tradition comes from an Old English rhyme and encourages brides-to-be to add four items to their ensemble for good luck.

This week I'm honoring the ritual each day as I share four ways to incorporate the "somethings" into your wedding.

First up is the something old (representing continuity) which is not synonymous with something boring!  Get creative and find a way to incorporate a trendy vintage piece into your wardrobe, carry a family heirloom or make an entrance via nostalgic transportation.

1. Arrive in a classic car
2. Carry a romantic vintage clutch
3. Mix family heirlooms and vintage finds to create a brooch bouquet
4. Take a trip down memory lane with photos at your gift table
5. Give each guest an old penny to make a wish
