Disney has been a unique part of Melissa and Tim’s love story since the beginning. Throughout their relationship, they have experienced many Disney destinations, from vacations to Walt Disney World to sailings aboard Disney Cruise Line.
The couple shared that they knew they wanted to have a Disney Wedding aboard the Disney Cruise Line, because cruises are a “big part of our lives and our favorite type of vacation.”
Making the newest Disney Cruise ship, the Disney Wish, the perfect backdrop to celebrate their love story at sea. Inspired by fairy tales and enchantment, and coined the “castle of the seas”, this stunning ship set the scene for once-in-a-lifetime wedding celebration – from picture perfect locations, to luxurious salons, fireworks, and the stunning Grand Hall as their ceremony venue – it truly was a fairy tale wedding.
Melissa started her Disney wedding at sea with a visit to the Untangled Salon, a luxury salon experience inspired by Rapunzel.
From there, Melissa and Tim shared a first look together before exploring the ship to take portraits at some of the most iconic locations onboard.
The couple hosted their wedding ceremony in the Grand Hall, one of our newest wedding venues, which features a stunning staircase and a shining chandelier.
Melissa descended the regal staircase in true Princess style, and the two were married by one of the captains of the ship. Melissa described their wedding as “pure magic” and an “absolute fairy tale.”
Following their wedding ceremony, the couple and their guests adjourned to The Bayou, an enchanting space that brings to life the story of the Princess and the Frog with mystical marsh, lily pad light fixtures, and a canopy of twinkling fireflies above.
The couple shared that their favorite moment was “getting to spend time with all of our friends, new and old, and meeting the amazing people on the ship. The cast truly makes the magic and made us feel so special.”
Melissa and Tim capped off their fairy tale wedding by watching fireworks from the balcony of the Disney Wish and watching the kiss goodnight chandelier lighting ceremony that takes place in the Grand Hall.
But the celebration didn’t stop there; at Castaway Cay, Disney’s Private Island, the couple celebrated by exploring the island and taking wedding portraits.
