Nick & Prairie’s Walt Disney World wedding was a celebration full of personal details and Disney magic. The couple described their fairy tale wedding as a “magical, once in a lifetime experience that was full of pixie dust!”
Their wedding morning started with exciting energy and castle views as Prairie and her bridesmaids got ready in The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, which Prairie described as “the most AMAZING setting to begin the day.”
Before their ceremony, the couple had a “very emotional and exciting” first touch. After a week of celebrating at Walt Disney World, from park visits to a rehearsal dinner at Citricos, the excitement and anticipation before “I Do” was electric.
Nick and Prairie chose Disney’s Wedding Pavilion for their ceremony. Distinct for its iconic view of Cinderella Castle, the venue is full of magical touches and uniquely Disney details. Prairie shared, “to me, nothing screamed more 'fairy tale wedding' than the Wedding Pavilion.”
Nick's favorite part of the day was seeing Prairie walking down the aisle. Prairie said, “When he had proposed to me, he said that I make his heart sparkle, so I made sure my wedding dress was sparkly enough to bring back that feeling.”
The couple described their ceremony as magical and fulfilling. “The feeling of finally being married was the most amazing, as our love story had begun its next chapter.”
The couple adores the architecture and aesthetic of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa where they held their reception. “We loved having the option to have a space big enough for dining, dancing, and other activities!”
Their decor was bright and cheery with a pastel blue and yellow color scheme. The couple added nods to Tangled throughout their décor with lanterns incorporated into their center pieces creating an overall whimsical and enchanting tablescapes. “It felt dreamy seeing everything we had planned come together with all of the people I love most,” Prairie shared.
They prioritized their guest’s experience by providing fun options for guests of all ages, “as we had guests that ranged from 2 months old to 85 years old!“
Their reception included a seating area with games, a dance floor with a lively DJ, and photobooth for an interactive and personalized wedding favor. The couple also paid tribute to the many love stories that came before them with a decorative bookshelf lined with photographs of couples from their families and friends.
Another highlight of the night was the special appearance by Mickey and Minnie, “we had the pleasure of having Mickey and Minnie join us for our cake cutting, photos with our guests, and dancing!”
This interaction was a standout moment of the celebration. Seeing their guests "enthralled by the magic of Disney” was a heart melting moment for the couple and their “favorite memory” from their wedding day
The fun didn’t stop at the reception! Nick and Prairie continued the celebration with a dessert party at EPCOT. They hosted their guests for an evening of firework entertainment and delicious desserts at Italy Isola. This venue paid a tribute to Nick’s Italian heritage and served as a stunning and romantic backdrop for the capstone event of their wedding festivities.
One of the most memorable parts of their dessert party was a cake dedicated to Nick’s favorite Disney characters, The Muppets. The Disney Culinary team helped the couple incorporate their interests and passions into a cake that was uniquely them!
After their wedding celebrations, the couple turned their destination wedding into full for the whole family by enjoying the many offerings of the Walt Disney World Resort.
The couple hosted a farewell brunch at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, enjoyed the Food and Wine festival at EPCOT, visited Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and enjoyed a stay at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
“To us, our love story is magical, and we wanted that to continue and grow as we took it to the most magical place on earth! We also wanted to make sure our guests that spent so much time and resources to go down there had a wonderful time.”
