It was all about timing for Charlene and Drew’s love story. One year for Charlene's birthday party, her good friends decided to bring along a new guy. The two shared a few words but nothing came of it. It wasn’t until a couple months later that the pair ran into each other again at a bar, and Drew decided to buy her a drink. They eventually exchanged numbers and planned their first date at that same bar. During the date, they sat for hours getting to know each other and realizing they were the loves of each other's lives.
When it came to planning the perfect proposal Drew knew he wanted to do it on the couple’s first trip to Walt Disney World together, but it had to be “as special as possible.” A few ideas ran through his head before he came across Cinderella’s Royal Table inside the castle at the Magic Kingdom and decided it was perfect.
Fast forward to the day of the engagement, Drew surprised Charlene with “last minute” reservations at Cinderella’s Royal Table. They enjoyed a delicious dinner with views of the Magic Kingdom and anxiously awaited dessert. Out of nowhere trumpets sounded, and the server arrived with a glass slipper on a platter. Confused by the moment wondering where the dessert was, Charlene stared at Drew. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said, “Yes!” and moments later fireworks went off!
One thing the couple always shared together was their love for Disney which lead to their decision to have a Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding at Disneyland Resort. The couple described their wedding day as simple, modest and romantic. The beautiful bride arrived in style to her ceremony at Rose Court Garden in Cinderella’s Coach. They exchanged their vows and said "I do" in front of their close friends and family before heading off to a reception at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel Ballroom. To celebrate their happily ever after, the couple opted for wedding cupcakes in churro, pineapple Dole Whip and chocolate flavors! Check out our blog post on the couples unique treat!
