Traditionally, a bride's parents were responsible for funding the majority of wedding expenses. Fast-forward to today, and it's safe to say things have changed quite a bit. Nowadays, couples are actually paying for a large part of the wedding on their own. People are waiting later in life to say "I do" and the cost of a wedding continues to grow- so it's very common to have the bride & groom help foot part or even the entire bill.
Another trend on the rise is having the bride & groom, bride's parents and groom's parents each cover one-third of the bill. That way it is completely fair for everyone involved that has a desire to contribute to the big day. Let me know in the comments below if you helped pay for your happily-ever-after...I want the dish!
